How to play Taptagon:
aiming, kill streaks, and survival.
Tap to fire from the core and stop enemies before they reach it. Learn to aim at moving targets, maintain kill streaks, and choose a goal for your next run.
01 / Aim ahead
Fire where the enemy is going.
Tap to fire from the core toward your target. A moving enemy may leave the spot you tapped before your shot reaches it. Aim a little ahead along its path, then adjust your next shot based on what happened.
Fast tapping alone will not cover every angle. Watch for curving enemies: their changing direction means you will need to adjust your aim.
Try this: lead, then check.
Pick an approaching enemy, aim ahead of its movement, and watch whether the shot connects. If it passes behind, aim farther along the path next time. Keep adjusting instead of repeatedly tapping the same spot.
Try this: scan after a kill.
Glance around the core after each kill. Deal with an enemy already closing in before turning to a formation farther out.
02 / Build your streak
Turn accurate shots into more firepower.
Every kill resets the streak timer. Longer kill streaks earn defense repairs and unlock Spread Shot, Laser, Homing Missiles, and Overdrive.
If the timer expires, build a new streak. Refocus on a target you can hit instead of chasing a missed shot across the screen.
Try this: keep scanning during a boss.
A boss can pull your attention away from other enemies. Between attacks, check the rest of the arena and respond to any approaching threats.
Glance at the streak display to spot a fading timer. Then return your attention to landing the next shot.
03 / Chase a record
Give your next run one goal.
Taptagon has separate Game Center leaderboards for Survival and Score. For a survival attempt, concentrate on spotting threats before they reach the core. For a score attempt, pay particular attention to keeping kills connected and rebuilding your streak when it breaks.
After a run, choose one thing to improve: leading moving targets, scanning every direction, or noticing a fading streak sooner. Compare your next attempt with your personal best and try again.
